Obtaining a Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) from the respective Sheriff of the county in which you reside, which is valid within the State of Colorado, is a significant commitment to make. Strictly following NRA guidelines and lesson plans I will assist you in acquiring the certification necessary to obtain this permit. Training will include classroom time (content) and ample range time (process). Demonstration of safe gun handling, marksmanship, firearm nomenclature and range qualification is a must before I put my signature to any documentation attesting to your proficiency.
Many people already have a CWP, often having obtained it without any meaningful time handling a firearm or on a live fire range. Their weapon craft may be minimal at best and they lack an appreciable comfort level with their firearm. It is possible that they have randomly selected a firearm, based on folklore or faulty advice, which does not fit them or that takes into consideration any unique physical attributes they may possess. Just because you go and buy a musical instrument doesn’t mean you are a musician. If you like the sound of a piano and wish to play one proficiently it makes no sense to go out and buy a trumpet. I will assist you in weapon selection and answer honestly the pros and cons of revolvers vs. semi-automatic pistols. I will answer questions you may have on which caliber can you reasonably control and still deliver effective rounds on target; what about barrel length, type of sights to put on the firearm, what type of holsters and carry options are available, and how about methods of carrying extra rounds of ammunition and what type of ammunition suits your purpose? And finally, where should you go to buy a firearm and not feel like you are being taken advantage of because of your ‘beginner’ status. These are all valid inquiries for the responsible gun owner. I will be there to answer these questions for you.
